Securitize, a leading real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform, has expanded its services to the Sei blockchain. The inaugural offering on the network is the tokenized Apollo Diversified Credit Fund (ACRED), valued at $112 million. This strategic move marks the first introduction of tokenized private credit products on the Sei blockchain, according to the company.
The ACRED fund, with a total value of $112 million as reported by RWA.xyz, serves as a feeder into Apollo's comprehensive private credit strategy. This strategy encompasses corporate lending, asset-backed transactions, and dislocated credit opportunities. Access to the fund is restricted to qualified investors. Leveraging Wormhole's cross-chain interoperability protocol, the fund's tokens can be seamlessly transferred across different blockchain networks, enhancing liquidity and facilitating easier movement of assets.
This development is part of the larger trend of tokenizing traditional financial instruments on blockchain systems. This shift aims to streamline settlement processes and reduce reliance on intermediaries. The total value of the real-world asset tokenization market has now surpassed $30 billion, as indicated by data from RWA.xyz.
"ACRED's expansion onto the Sei blockchain underscores the potential of blockchain infrastructure to create new avenues for investor participation in private credit and to accelerate the pace of digital innovation," stated Christine Moy, a Partner at Apollo and Head of Digital Assets, Data, and AI Strategy, in an official press release.
Securitize has announced plans to introduce additional funds to the Sei network in the near future. To date, the platform has successfully tokenized assets exceeding $3 billion in value, including notable offerings from industry giants like BlackRock, KKR, and VanEck.
