PLUME Token Surges 25% After SEC Transfer Agent Registration for Tokenized Securities

Plume Network, a modular Layer 2 blockchain specializing in real-world assets (RWAs), has achieved a significant regulatory milestone by becoming an SEC-regulated transfer agent. This registration enables streamlined issuance, transfer, and management of tokenized securities on-chain. Following the announcement, PLUME token price increased by 25% with daily trading volume surging 186% according to CoinMarketCap data. As a registered transfer agent, Plume will manage digital securities and shareholder records directly on-chain while maintaining interoperability with the U.S. Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) settlement network. The technology enables various use cases including on-chain IPOs, small-cap fundraising, and registered funds, reducing tokenization timelines from months to weeks through smart-contract automation. The registration provides crucial regulatory infrastructure for major institutions like BlackRock, Fidelity, and Apollo seeking compliant on-chain asset transfers. "With this fully on-chain transfer agent protocol, we're streamlining digital securities issuance with built-in regulatory partnerships," stated Chris Yin, Plume CEO and Co-Founder. Plume's transfer agent is currently operational, allowing immediate engagement with funds. The company plans to launch its initial product offerings, including Nest protocol vaults, in Q1 2026. Nest protocol enables fund managers to create vaults backed by regulated financial instruments where users can deposit stablecoins to earn yield from real-world assets. The platform has already attracted interest from SEC-registered 40 Act funds and is pursuing additional licenses including Alternative Trading System (ATS) and broker-dealer registrations to build comprehensive on-chain capital market infrastructure.
