Metaplanet (3350) has solidified its position as the fifth largest corporate bitcoin holder globally after purchasing 5,419 BTC worth $632.53 million. The Japanese investment firm achieved an average purchase price of $116,724 per bitcoin, significantly boosting its crypto portfolio. This strategic acquisition brings Metaplanet's total bitcoin reserves to 25,555 BTC valued at approximately $2.71 billion, with an average cost basis of $106,065 per BTC. The company's Head of Bitcoin Strategy Dylan LeClair confirmed this represents "just the first tranche" of their expansion plan, following a recent $1.4 billion capital raise dedicated to further bitcoin accumulation. In parallel developments, Capital B (ALCPB) enhanced its digital asset position with 551 BTC purchased at $116,672 per coin. Despite current market volatility that has temporarily pushed bitcoin below purchase levels, both companies maintain long-term bullish strategies. Metaplanet's 2025 year-to-date bitcoin yield stands at an impressive 395.1%, demonstrating strong performance despite recent price corrections.
