EigenLayer Foundation Boosts Restaking Rewards for Active Participants in New Proposal

The Eigen Foundation, supporting the leading Ethereum restaking protocol EigenLayer, has unveiled a significant proposal to enhance user incentives. The new plan, dubbed the "Season 2 Stakedrop," aims to allocate a larger portion of rewards to users who are actively engaged with actively validated services (AVSs) on the network. This strategic shift moves away from a model that primarily rewarded early depositors and stakers. The foundation's proposal suggests increasing the reward pool for AVS participants from the initially planned 15% to over 20%. This initiative is designed to stimulate greater ecosystem participation and secure the network by incentivizing operators and delegators to contribute to AVS services. The final decision rests with the community, pending a snapshot vote on the proposal.
