Cloudflare Launches NET Dollar Stablecoin for AI-Driven Web Economy
25.09.2025 19:18
Cloudflare (NET) has announced the development of a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin designed for the emerging "agentic web," where AI agents autonomously handle tasks such as flight bookings and grocery orders. The NET Dollar token will facilitate instant, secure transactions for software agents, developers, and creators, marking a departure from traditional ad-based internet revenue models. CEO Matthew Prince emphasized that this initiative supports pay-per-use and microtransaction systems, promoting valuable creative content. Cloudflare is also contributing to payment protocols like Agent Payments Protocol and x402 to streamline online transactions. This move positions Cloudflare alongside fintech firms capitalizing on the stablecoin trend, which offers faster, cheaper cross-border payments via blockchain. Stablecoin volumes are projected to hit $1 trillion by 2030, driven by institutional adoption and FX settlement.
