Binance Compensates Users After wBETH, BNSOL, USDe Crash - Crypto Exchange Updates Wrapped Token Pricing
12.10.2025 21:21
Binance has announced voluntary compensation for users who suffered losses during platform disruptions that caused significant price crashes in wrapped beacon ether (wBETH), Binance Staked SOL (BNSOL), and Ethena's synthetic dollar USDe. The exchange confirmed it will review cases individually, though market fluctuation losses and unrealized profits won't be compensated. During the incident, wBETH plunged 88% to $430 while ETH traded above $3,800, and BNBSOL dropped to $34.90. The crash occurred due to infrastructure stress preventing arbitrageurs from maintaining price alignment. Binance has now switched to conversion-ratio pricing for wrapped assets, creating more stable valuation during market volatility by basing prices on underlying staking ratios rather than spot market fluctuations.
